Multi
Function School Activity Bus
COLLINS MULTI
FUNCTION SCHOOL ACTIVITY BUS (MFSAB)
You need a safe alternative to non-conforming
van transportation. As the leader in the small
school bus industry. Collins builds every certified
bus from the chassis up, engineering safety
into every square inch, while meeting all federal
safety standards. And though our relationship
with The Salvation Army, you'll be surprised
how little price difference there is between
a non-conforming van and the Collins Multi Function
School Activity Bus (MFSAB)
SCHOOL BUS SAFETY
AND FEATURES - VAN MANEUVERABILITY AND CONVENIENCE
Available in a variety of models and floor plans,
all of the Collins MFSABs offer a reinforced,
galvanized steel body, for protection in both
head-on and side-impact collisions. They also
offer a smoother, sturdier ride, for added comfort
and safety.
FMVSS SCHOOL BUS
CERTIFIED SEATS WITH SEAT BELTS
Passenger seat frames are mounted to the floor
and a continuous wall seat rail runs the entire
length of the wall. Strong steel seat frames
form an integrated structure between floor,
seat, and wall. The school bus certified seats
provide a padded compartment around occupants
and emergency-absorbing seat backs protect passengers
in a forward or rearward collision. All seats
include lap belts and are rated for a 5000#
force.
REAR EMERGENCY
DOOR
The rear emergency door is 35" x 55"
galvanized frame construction. The door has
a large viewing area. Over 600 square inches.
FMVSS CERTIFIED
BODY STRUCTURE
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Certification
establishes requirements for school bus body
structure in rollover accidents and regulates
the strength of body panel joints in school
buses. These standards have been incorporated
into these MFSAB models.
LARGE SIDE PORTHOLE AND SAFETY MIRROR SYSTEM
The large side porthole offers increased drive
view and the FMVSS certified safety mirror system
provides rear view and cross view visibility.
DRIVER FRIENDLY
With all of its enhanced safety and comfort,
under most state laws, anyone with a regular
driver's license can operate a Collins MFSAB
as long as it doesn't seat more than 14 passengers.
You get all the safety of a small school bus,
while avoiding the added expense of hiring additional
commercial drivers.
CRASH RAILS &
RUB RAILS
Heavy gage steel crash rails are located below
seat level and are integrated within the wall
structure. Structural steel rubrails at floor,
seat and window levels strengthen side walls.
Rubrails wrap around and reinforce the rear
corner of the bus also.
THE PRICE OF
SAFETY
Perhaps the biggest surprise is how little price
difference there is between a non-conforming
van and a Collins MFSAB. The Collins MFSAB costs
about 10% more than a van, but the advantages
far outweigh the expense. That's because Collins MFSAB life expectance is substantially longer
than a van, giving you additional service life
and the peace of mind knowing you're giving
your members the safest ride possible.
WHY COLLINS?
A Collins MFSAB complies with school bus Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standards relative to construction,
vehicle crash integrity, occupant seating crash
protection, and drive visibility. Also, Collins Industries, Inc. has been the leading small
school bus provider in the industry for over
25 years. In fact, we invented the first small
bus under 10,000# GVWR. Best of all, the Collins MFSAB meets all National Transportation
Safety Board highway safety requirements. We
believe choosing the Collins MFSAB is one of
the safest and best decisions you could ever
make.
